One of the best things about autumn is the amazing smells associated with the season in your Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford home. Cinnamon and apple scents fill the home and these scents begin to mix with the smells of Christmas and the arrival of mulled wine.
Even if you don’t like mulled wine and don’t want to drink it you can still fill your home with the aromatics of apple slices, cinnamon sticks, and cloves by warming them in some water on the stove and letting the scent waft through your entire home.
Bringing in pine branches to decorate your halls and stairs and setting up a real Christmas tree can bring the scent of pine into your home as can bowls of pine cones. Pinecones can also be enhanced with a little essential oil. There is a wide selection of different essential oils you can try out to find one you like.
If you prefer the sweeter scents of fruit and cinnamon you can always hang garlands of dried orange slices, balanced by bay leaves and cinnamon sticks. They can look really lovely strung up on a fireplace and smell wonderfully sweet. The heat from a fireplace or a radiator will help distribute the scents.
Other dried fruit, herbs and spice paired with nuts can give a classic Christmassy look in your favourite decorative bowl or sitting next to candles in glass jars.
