As the seasons change more and more autumn colour comes into the local countryside around Woodford, Chigwell and Loughton. At the landscape turns so do the interior trends move on to reflect the season. Country Living has gathered the top country home interior design trends for autumn/winter 2018, so if you are just moving into property in Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford you might want to include the paint colour, texture, materials and patterns they suggest.
After a particularly long hot summer, autumn is on its way and brings with it a rich source of seasonal inspiration for our interior designs. Country Living Deputy Home and Style Editor, Alaina Binks, says these are her three favourite themes to look out for in 2018.
Firstly she thinks there will be lots of rich earthy tones. This takes the form of a warming colour palette inspired by nature and woodlands. From the vibrant tones of the turning leaves including rich reds, russet and amber yellows to comforting brown tones as seen in conkers and bracken.
If you want to introduce pattern and texture, why not choose natural woods and woodland-inspired motifs, such as pinecones, squirrels and owls, along with displays of natural foliage.
Metallics hardly ever go out of fashion and she thinks the warm tones of burnished copper and brass, along with zinc and pewter will continue to add elegance or rustic charm to any interior. She suggests you can introduce these finishes in lighting, furniture, accessories and decorating materials such as wallpaper.
Finally, she thinks this autumn will see a strong focus on the handmade. Object and materials that celebrate individual craftspeople and traditional and time-honoured techniques and skills. Look out for handcrafted furniture, hand-woven coppiced baskets, hand-carved spoons and hand-thrown ceramics. See if you can find unique fabrics and wallpaper with prints that have been block, lino, or screen-printed by hand for creating individual charm. Have fun bringing some Autumn colour into your Woodford, Chigwell or Loughton home.
