If you are new to Chigwell, Loughton of Woodford with a young family you will find plenty of things to do at Grange Farm Centre including sing and sign baby classes. Lili currently teaches classes in Chigwell on Fridays at 1:30 pm. If you’d like to know a little more about Sing and Sign you can attend a taster session to find out it singing and signing can help you and your baby communicate better.

Lili first started signing when she had her first baby, predominantly because I thought that it would be an incredibly useful tool to have coming from a trilingual home. What she hadn’t anticipated was how quickly her son started being able to communicate with her.  By 18 months they were having mini conversations and he was able to tell her the different animals he saw and when he was hungry or thirsty without getting frustrated.
Sing and Sign is the original British baby signing programme. Babies already use all kinds of signs and gestures as a natural part of learning to talk. You may have been able to already understand some of your child’s signs. But learning how to encourage your baby with extra signs like milk, more, change nappy or tired can only help you and your baby communicate earlier.

Developed with the help of Speech and Language professionals and recommended by experts, Sing and Sign is Britain’s longest-running and best-loved baby signing programme. Sing and Sign offers a variety of ways to learn and is easy because the learning is made such fun. Your baby will recognise important words sooner and can use the signs to “talk” to you before speech. “ I cannot imagine life without signing with her. It helps us so much, not only for day to day things such as asking for food, sleep, nappy changes, etc. but also in play.... reading books, at the park, singing songs etc.” said one parent of sing and sign baby classes.
