Lee Valley Legacy

Wasn’t the 2012 Olympics great for London? Living in Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford gives access to so many of London’s great amenities and the facilities created in the Lee Valley are no exception. You can choose from literally hundreds of great activities or days out and things to do in the Lee Valley.

You can enjoy cycling, walking, horse riding, white water rafting, nature reserves, and open space but perhaps best of all at this time of year you can do a spot of ice skating. Ice, ice baby is the event that’s on offer to get you in the festive spirit as you glide around the ice rink. If you want to warm up with a mulled wine or hot chocolate and browse the Christmas market for unique gifts that on offer too.

Skating costs from £5 and the sessions are 45 minutes long. You are asked to arrive 30 minutes before the session start time and skate hire is included in the price. If you want the kids to learn how to ice skate properly there are safe, fun courses to learn the basics of skating and pave the way for more advanced ice skating tuition.

To really master skating intensive school holiday courses are run where participants can fit six weeks of regular Skate UK training into just five days! These intensive holiday Learn to Skate courses cover Skate UK Levels 1 and 2 and include the chance to practice during the public session, straight after the lesson.
