The Essex Art Club works with all areas of the visual arts, except photography they say. So that includes painting and drawing in watercolour, oils, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, pencil, ink and mixed media, as well as printmaking and sculpture. They tend to choose subjects that include terrestrial and marine landscapes, portraits and life studies, still life and abstracts. And they aim to hold at least two exhibitions a year, one in Essex and one in London.
Essex Art club is a long-established society of artists and art-lovers. Their members range from total beginners to full-time professionals and include tutors and teachers of art, but most of their members are enthusiastic amateurs. Alongside their regular sessions, they also hold events which include demonstrations by specialist artists, talks on art history, informal painting sessions, a portrait group and workshops in selected disciplines.
If you would like to join the Essex Art Club why not look at the details of their membership. The annual subscription is currently £17, which allows you to exhibit your work and to attend demonstrations at a discounted rate. Maybe next time it will be your painting on exhibit near Chigwell, Loughton and Woodford.
