Sixth form in Chigwell?

Preparing our young people for the future is so important and making a good decision about a sixth form can prove vital. Many of us have as part of our home buying criteria the proximity of good schools and a good sixth form. Homes in Chigwell, Loughton and Woodford are locations that offer that proximity in the form of Chigwell School.

Chigwell School provides an outstanding secondary education the pinnacle of which is the sixth form where students enjoy a rich and full education. They are invited to experience leadership opportunities and are prepared well not only for A levels but for life at university and the world of employment.  Most students study four A-level subjects in the Lower Sixth and specialise in three of these in their second year.

The Risham Sarao Sixth Form Centre was officially opened on the 12th September 2016. It is named in memory of a former Chigwell School student. It has six classrooms, study and social spaces and a centre for careers and university advice, as well as a coffee shop and large seating areas. Some subjects are still taught in dedicated departments elsewhere in the School, but it is a great place where students can come together at break, lunch and free periods to study, reflect and socialise.

Chigwell School prides itself on preparing students for life after school.  The majority of students go on to university and their Top Institutions and Courses (TICs) programme ensures those applying for the early UCAS deadline of 15th October (i.e. Oxbridge (any subject), medicine/veterinary science/dentistry) are well prepared.

Sixth form students come from Chigwell school Year 11 as well as from other local schools and are joined by some students from overseas. Chigwell sixth formers are bright, ambitious and purposeful and engaged with life.  If this is the kind of sixth form you are looking for for your young people Chigwell is the place.
