Light up a life in Loughton

’Tis the season to light a candle in Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford and many homes will be ablaze with candlelight this Christmas. But it is also a time of remembrance especially in a year when a member of the family has been lost.

Christmas can be a very emotional occasion, a special season for spending time with friends and family, and for remembering those who are no longer with us. Their absence can be deeply felt, whether their death was recent, or if many years have passed.

Light Up A Life in Loughton is a Christmas time celebration of everything that St Clare Hospice stands for particularly standing side by side with families from across the community in honour of their loved ones.

St Clare Hospice is a local charity that each year care for hundreds of people across West Essex and the East Hertfordshire border. They provide free, compassionate care and support to adults with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers. If you live in Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford you are sure to know of them, every community needs hospice provision.

Throughout their catchment area in November and December, unique services will be held with carols, music, readings and refreshments, in the company of those who understand. The Loughton event will be held at the Methodist Church in Loughton on Saturday 1st December 2018 at 4.30pm. Car parking is available at Traps Hill and Smarts Lane car parks.

The annual Light Up A Life services mean a lot to so many families across West Essex and East Herts and everyone is welcome to join in this year. Each service is free to attend and open to everyone, whatever their faith and is not only for the many patients and families St Clare has helped but for the whole Loughton, Woodford and Chigwell community.
