Christmas party decorations for 2017

As you get ready for the round of Chigwell, Loughton and Woodford Christmas drinks it is vital that you pay a little attention to your seasonal decorations. There will always be the traditional red and green theme for Christmas if that’s what you like, but every year sees emerging festive trends that we can have fun with as we dress our homes for the season.

This Christmas the trend seems to be all about injecting some personality and having fun, think bright and quirky. A theme can always help but this year doesn’t be afraid to go against the grain if you embrace the tropical Christmas go for it. Put lights in your indoor plants and look up some palm tree prints that have been given a sophisticated twist for autumn/winter. Add to the look with everything pineapple, from pineapple-shaped glassware to gold glittered pineapple baubles.

If the emerging pineapple trend is not for you, what about the cactus, and the llama? John Lewis' Lima Llama theme draws on Peruvian festivals to celebrate all that is bright about Christmas.  The kids might really like all the multi-coloured ornaments and pom-pom garlands which can help bring the scheme to life.

John Lewis also says that tinsel is back Christmas buyer at John Lewis Dan Cooper, says: 'This year – you heard it here first – tinsel is back. We've worked with our manufacturer in Wales to update this retro decoration and offer it in exciting new guises.” They also produce an oak leaf tinsel in soft gold that could look lovely in candle light at a Chigwell Christmas party.
