One of the great things about living in Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford if you like to horse ride is the extensive network of surfaced and un-surfaced shared use trails. This ancient forest really is a wonderful place to explore with your horse at any time of the year.

Horse riding is permitted on the wide network of shared use trails in the forest all year round. Please note that you will need a licence to ride your horse in Epping Forest.

Needless to say with such good facilities the Epping Forest Riders Association (EFRA) works tirelessly to keep all these tracks, rides and bridleways in good condition and to get better provisions for horse riders. But that doesn’t exclude having some Christmas fun. On Sunday 16th December from 10:00 am at Woodlands Stables, Sewardstone Road, E4 7RE bring your tinsel and mistletoe for an event open to all of all ages and abilities.

There will be games and Christmas Jumping, with classes divided into Juniors (under 16’s) and Seniors if numbers allow.
