The railways consisting of 1000 foot 5" raised level track & a 3000 foot 7¼" ground level track are used to give rides to members of the public between April and the end of September Wed 30 Aug, Sun 3 Sep, Sun 10 Sep, Sun 17 Sep, Sun 24 Sep from 2pm - 5:30pm. The Chingford and District Model Engineering Club is over 72 years old. Their members come from all walks of life and membership is open to either sex (several female members are qualified train drivers). Membership starts at age 10 for Apprentices, 14 for Juniors and 18 years for full membership.
The best way to get to Chingford from central London is also by train from Bank on the Central line towards Epping. The journey times are fast and easy to enjoy the range of the activities on offer in Chingford. The busiest times at Bank Tube station are 08:30 - 08:45 and 17:30 - 18:15 on weekdays.  Whether for work of leisure travel times to and from this outer district of London are good.
