2018 garden trends

If 2018 is your year to transform your Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford outdoor space there are some great garden trends to explore this year. Whether you're in need of a complete garden re-design or simply want to upgrade what you already have, there is some real insight out there to help shape our gardens.

You may have already been thinking about your garden and how to plan to get it looking in great shape for the warmer months. And one of the big things that are often top of the garden trends list is all about embracing alfresco.

As the Spring begins and summer is on the horizon it is the ideal time to work out how to enjoy your Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford outdoor space. Alfresco dining is set to be bigger than ever this year. This will mean that more outdoor entertaining and kitchen areas will be a key trend. 'It's perfect for those of us who lack space in our kitchens or dining rooms, as we can move entertaining friends and family outside,', says The Greenhouse People. They suggest to really embrace the alfresco you, 'create a dedicated area with comfy furniture and mood lighting, complete with a sunken fire pit, BBQ or pizza oven.'

To make sure you can enjoy your outdoor dining whatever the weather according to award-winning garden designer John Wyer outdoor structures could play a part.  To protect your family and your Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford garden guests you may need to explore a pergola. Not just your average summerhouse he says but a proper pergola, with integrated drainage, lighting and heating.
There is also a growing popularity of verandas predicted by The Post Shed Company in 2018 garden trends. And John Lewis has noted that muted tones for furnishing your Pergola or Verander are in, 'applying muted tones like grey to your woven furniture is increasingly popular, adding an element of sophistication to your outdoor living area,' they say.
