Visiting the golf gem on the edge of London

That is what Woodford Golf Club has been called, “A Real Gem on the edge of London.” Woodford is one of the oldest golf courses in Essex, and visitors are welcome to play 9 or 18 holes at most times during the week. There are some restrictions on playing times, particularly on Tues and Wed mornings, and on most Saturdays until after 3.30pm but it is easy to check availability via the Pro Shop on 020-8504-4254, or on the Tee Availability page.

If you want to visit Woodford to play, handicap certificates are not required but green fees should be paid to the Pro Shop before beginning a round. The Pro Shop and bar can accept card payments, as can the office if the Pro Shop is closed (office open weekday mornings only). Visitors then also have the courtesy of the clubhouse on the day of playing, and can use the changing facilities and the bar.

Visiting Woodford is a good way to find out if you are interested in longer tem membership. Woodford Golf Club is a small but active club, in both golfing and social terms.  The men’s, ladies' and seniors' sections all have a full schedule of competitions alongside friendly fixtures with local clubs.  Their 9-hole course offers our members and guests flexibility to play a shorter round if time is limited, perfect for those long summer evenings after work.

7 day full Membership starts from - £550, family membership: a 7-day male and a playing lady, with at least one child a Junior playing member, shall be entitled to a 10% reduction in the combined parents' annual subscription. For further information you can contact the office on 020-8504-3330, email office@woodfordgolf.co.uk
