St Clare’s 10k challenge

Have you managed the couch to 10k challenge? If you love your Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford sofa you will know it is good to get up off it regularly and set yourself changes.  One local 10k challenge is run this Sunday 7th April 10.30 am - 1 pm for St Clare’s Hospice in Epping.

The St Clare Hospice 10k 2019 is all about taking part and making a difference. Hundreds of runners are expected to jostle at the starting line once again for the yearly Essex 10k road race.  Last year the race raised an amazing £8,000 for the Hospice.

The event is ideal for regular running club members looking to boost their training, but if you are new to running in Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford it is fine for you too as there will plenty of people running who are looking for a new challenge. Please note, participants must be aged 15 years or above.

St Clare Hospice is a local Chigwell, Loughton and Woodford charity. Every year they care for hundreds of people across West Essex and the East Hertfordshire border. They provide free, compassionate care and support to adults with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers. So they are well worth supporting.

You can sign up in advance or you can sign up on the day. The registration desk will be open from 9.30am. Advance entry is £12 (£10 for affiliated runners), or an additional £3 on the day (£15 non-affiliated runners and £13 for affiliated runners). Contact Details: For more information on, get in touch with our Events Fundraiser, Emma Broadbent, on 01279 773754 or email:

If you are not up for a run it is also a great event to get off your Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford sofa to support. The runners like to be cheered on and there will be a tombola and cafe refreshments available after the race.
