Holiday science fun in Loughton

With the summer holiday, fast approaching is it time to get some holiday science fun in place for your kids. If you live in Woodford, Chigwell or Loughton Fab Science holiday camps are coming your way. Every school holiday they bring a different theme to their venues one of which is Loughton. They say they bring the best of biology, the coolest of chemistry and the most fantastic of physics to you.

For this summer holidays, they have three different events to choose from a whole orchestra of experiments in Super Sounds, an investigation of the rock cycle using chocolate at Geology Rocks and an introduction to the use of pulleys, levers and more physical devised to build designs in Magnificent Machines.

The next Loughton Fab Science camp is on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th July at Roding Valley High School which is on Alderton Hill, Loughton, Essex IG10 3JA.  The camps run from 10 am to 3 pm each day and they have a break in the morning and for lunch. At the end of the days Loughton, Woodford or Chigwell parents/carers are invited to come for the pick-up ten minutes early if they would like to take part in an informal show and tell session. Fab Science provide all that is needed for the experiments the equipment and safety goggles. After the camp, your mini-scientist may bring home some of their creations, and have some ideas on ‘kitchen science’ to do at home.

If you are up for turning your Loughton, Woodford or Chigwell kitchen into a kids science lab for some of the holidays you can see more here. Fab Science have put together some ideas for things you can try at home. There is no need for special equipment, plastic cups will be just fine for the experiments and the ingredients can be found easily in supermarkets or chemists. But don’t forget science can be messy so take care to protect clothes and surfaces!
