Fox Burrows Farm on Fox Burrow Road, Chigwell IG7 4QN, is a local petting farm for the children of Loughton, Woodford and Chigwell. What’s really good about it is it’s scale. Because it is small it help all the animals remain friendly. There is a good mix of animals to meet too, Pigs, Sheep, Goats, Ponies, Horses, Donkeys, Alpaca, Birds and Meerkats.

Many local folk say, “It's a lovely little place, free of charge and in a beautiful park with a boating lake, definitely worth a visit.” “Love the staff and how they always chat with the kids. I enjoy strolling around this little farm and seeing the animals. I would like a feeding time session or some more interaction with the animals.”

If you are looking for something bigger not too far from Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford then there is Pets Corner in Harlow Town Park. They opened in 1966 so they have been running a long time.  Pets' Corner is a small, friendly farm but has a large selection of traditional farm animals, such as rabbits, chickens and ducks, more exotic animals such as Reindeer, Llamas and Alpacas, as well as a number of rare breeds including Red Poll cows, Essex Saddleback and Tamworth pigs.

Pets' Corner is free to enter but welcomes donations in the box on site. You can feed some of the animals for 20p a bag, available from feed vending machines. They are open from the 1 April to 31 October, 11am to 4:45pm and from 1 November to 31 March, 11am to 4pm.

If you wanted to get more involved Pets' Corner offers many volunteering opportunities, including working with the animals, helping with events and in our gift shop. Volunteering can be any day of the week, for a couple of hours, or all day; all they  ask for is enthusiasm and a love of animals.
