Family-friendly cafes

When you want a snack out with the youngest members of the family close to Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford it is important to find a family friendly café. On the edge of Epping Forest at 12 Ranger’s Rd, Chingford, London E4 7QH, Butlers Retreat is one cafe you can return to time and again and is a great place to bring visitors to when they come to stay in the area. It is run by the same people who own The Larder and the coffee and cakes are delicious.

Then there is The Atrium at Woodford Green. This is a bright and airy cafe that is part of the All Saints’ Woodford Wells Church building. They also host a load of baby and toddler classes, and other activities and run a pre-school. It is a very family friendly café so is usually pretty busy with parents and children before or after their classes. But there is plenty of space for prams and buggies so it’s a great place to meet up with other mums or dads even if you’re children are not attending a session there. You can find it at All Saints’ Church, Inmans Row, Woodford Green, IG8 0NH The Atrium website

One Woodford café that is worth checking out is the Ray Lodge Central Café in Woodford Green it can be found at Ray Lodge Park, Snakes Lane East, Woodford Green IG8 7GL. The café sells the usual café food and some of their home cooked cakes and biscuits are very good and there is a selection of sandwiches, snacks and jacket potatoes. There is also a small soft play area next to the cafe for children under 4 years old so that is another reason for going there. If you need them there are toilets and baby change within the James Leal building.
