Deck the halls with….

At this time of year, at least one Christmas event has to be visited. With a host of activities for all the family and lots of opportunity to do some last minute tree or stocking filler shopping it just has to be done.
Not far from Chigwell, Loughton and Woodford a brand new festive event had been added to Forty Hall Farm's calendar. They have brought together the Farm's popular festive wreath-making afternoon with a one-off winter food market. It might not have all the fairground activities but in makes up for them with its grounds. Sunday 10th December, 11am - 4pm Forty Hall Farm, Forty Hill, Enfield EN2 9HA.
Forty Hall Farm is an organic farm nestled in the Forty Hall estate - it’s a mixed farm with a variety of animals, including many rare breeds. The farm is also home to London’s only vineyard, the Forty Hall Community Vineyard, and the new Forty Hall Farm Orchard. The aim of the Farm is to become a centre of excellence that demonstrates and promotes sustainable food production.
At this time of year you can visit to make your very own wreath. First you can have a good old take a tramp around the farm, gathering foliage from the Farm's trees and hedgerows, before heading back to the Black Barn to create your door wreath to take home.
Once you have finished tramping and making you can enjoy a great lunch of local street food, along with a warming mulled cider or apple and once you've filled your boots then there’s time to stock up on award-winning local produce and Christmas treats and gifts; including Forty Hall Vineyard's wine, Wildes Cheese and Old Bakery Gin, plus midwinter organic produce from the farm.
