Cabin fever in Chigwell?

If the winter days are getting you down there is so much to do outdoors close to Chigwell, Loughton and Woodford so maybe it is time to get out. Family life in Chigwell, Loughton and Woodford means you will probably make good use of what is on offer in Epping Forest. But if you have not yet explored what’s on offer at the Fairlop Outdoor Activity Centre just a few miles south of Chigwell now may be the time. 

It is an ideal place for people to take part in a great range of outdoor and adventurous activities, especially water sports. Their lake has 40 acres of water with two islands situated in Fairlop Waters Country Park which itself is beautiful. An open aspect across Fairlop Plain means that there is usually a good clean breeze for sailors.

The centre is open all year round with Summer and Winter season opening times and special activity times. There is easy parking in the pay and display car park just outside and easy public transport links with the central line Fairlop Underground station within walking distance, or the number 462 bus which stops right outside.

The centre holds the Royal Yachting Association and British Canoeing approval as well as being licenced by the Adventurous Activities Licencing Authority. They are recognised providers of British Canoeing and Royal Yachting Association courses. All their BCU and RYA courses includes a free 1-year membership of the centre so you and your family can continue to practice your new skills.

They also run birthday party event to introduce you or your kids to an activity like canoeing, Kayaking or Ketch Sailing. If you were looking for something new and exciting for a birthday treat this year close to Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford one of Fairlop Outdoor Activity Centre activities might be just the ticket.
